Yogi Adityanath sworn in as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh
Yogi Adityanath was sworn in as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for a second consecutive term on Friday. Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Sharma took oath as deputy chief ministers.
PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Transortation Minister Nitin Gadkari, BJP national President J.P.Nadda, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai are among the VIPs atteneded the ceremony.
It was special that, Yogi Adityanath sworn in as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for a record second straight term at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
UP's new Cabinet comprises of some old faces, including Keshav Prasad Maurya and Suresh Khanna, in addition to some new faces. To make way for new faces, the BJP has had to drop 26 ministers who were part of the first Yogi Adityanath Cabinet.
Massive preparations were underway since Thursday for the gala ceremony. Thousands of people have gathered at the Ekana Stadium for the Yogi 2.0 government's swearing-in ceremony.
The BJP claimed a voting share percentage of 41 percent this time in UP. The next on the list was Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party that claimed a voting share percentage of 32 per cent.
